Welcome to your Canvas Challenge course!

Nebraska BlendEd Pilot participants will be using Canvas as the learning management system for collaborative learning. This course was created for you to get a better understanding of Canvas before the March Kick-Off dates. This course is self-paced, and you may complete all lessons or just get information about the topics you need.

Before you get started, here are some notes to help you along the way.

You will see several links throughout the course that appear in this font/format. Clicking on the text in these links will redirect you to a helpful location. These might include links to an external site, the Canvas Guides, another place within your course, a file download, etc. Read the text on the link to determine where you will be redirected to.
Here is a link to a glossary of key terms used in the Canvas Challenge: Canvas Challenge - Glossary of Key Terms.pdf. You can access the file by clicking on the link to download, clicking on the magnifying icon to preview within the page, or clicking on the Files link in the Course Navigation (the left menu of links). Most of the terminology will be explained to you as it is introduced throughout the course; however, you can refer to this document if you have trouble with terminology at anytime.
You will use the Module buttons at the bottom of each page to navigate this course. Click Next to move on to the next Module item, and click Previous to move back to the previous Module item. To skip around within the course, just click Modules on the left side of the screen. To get started in the Canvas Challenge, click the START at the bottom!

Accessibility Statement

Canvas provides a user experience that is easy, simple, and intuitive. Special attention has been paid to making Canvas screen-readable. The Rich Content Editor encourages users to create accessible content pages (i.e. text formatting is accomplished using styles). Canvas is designed to allow limited customization of colors and schemes to be accessible for all users. The National Federation of the Blind granted Canvas the Gold Level Web Certification in 2010. Canvas Apps for Mobile Devices

You can access Canvas on your phone or a table using a browser app, such as Safari or Chrome. You can also install the free Canvas app on your mobile device. However, not all Canvas features may be available on the app. When you start the app for the first time you will need enter our MCCSC Canvas URL, which is: mccsc.instructure.com.
