Challenge 1: Update your Profile & Notification Preferences

You may choose to print this page, or open Canvas in a new tab, as the directions will not be visible when you start to complete the challenge.

Update Your Profile

1. Open your profile by clicking Account in the top left corner under the BlendEd logo.

2. Click the Profile link.

3. Click on the profile picture to update it.

4. On the right side, click Edit Profile.

Edit your bio to introduce yourself to the other BlendEd participants.

5. Save your profile.

Notifications

Notification Preferences allow users to select how and when they want to be notified when various events occur within a course. Notification settings are applied to all courses. Canvas users can choose how often they want to receive Canvas notifications.

Set Your Notifications

Click Notifications on the left. You can hover your mouse over a course activity item to see a description of that notification. Hover over the notification type you want to change and choose immediate, daily, weekly, none.

Look through the list of notifications and select how often you would like to be notified regarding course updates.

Communication Channels

First, set the ways you want to be notified. Canvas supports notification through email, SMS text message, and Twitter. You account already has your school email address as a communication channel.

If you want to receive notification as text messages on your phone, click Settings on left. Then click the Add contact Method on the right.
